Our take on Chubby Duck Offroad
Reviewed by the LetsPlayFree editors ·
Chubby Duck Offroad is a downhill physics game. Gravity is the engine, and your control of rotation in the air is the one resource you cannot get back. You follow speed signs, land on the back of each hill, hop boulders and ride logs like rails, and one wipeout ends the run.
Scoring is clear: finish for one star, ring every cone for two, and beat the par time for three. The trails are dealt fresh, so you can retry the same trail or start a new one, which means you can practice a route or explore a new one. The controls use throttle, brake, weight shifting and a hop, which gives the game more depth than it first seems.
Each trail rewards patience, and learning when to shift weight or hop makes landings smoother. Three-star goals encourage you to retry the same trail for a faster time, while new trails keep the game from feeling repetitive. Physics fans will enjoy the control it demands.
How to play Chubby Duck Offroad
Use W or Up for throttle, S or Down for the rear brake, and A and D or Left and Right to shift your weight, which gives wheelies and stoppies on the ground and spins in the air. Space hops. P or Esc pauses, Enter or R retries the same trail, N deals a new trail and M returns to the title screen. Touch controls are also available.
Tips for Chubby Duck Offroad
- Land on the back of hills so you keep your speed.
- Do not over-rotate in the air; a flat landing is better than a flip.
- Retry the same trail to learn where the cones are.
