In Space is a survival shooter seen from above. You play an elite soldier armed with futuristic weapons who must hold out against relentless alien swarms in the starscape.
Strategy comes from upgrading and persevering as the threats evolve, so you need to adapt as the game goes on.
The top-down view keeps every threat visible, so staying mobile and upgrading steadily is usually a better plan than trying to clear every alien at once.
