Smash Yard

Our take on Smash Yard

Reviewed by the LetsPlayFree editors ·

Smash Yard is a destruction game with real satisfaction. Doors are ripped off, windows shatter and wheels roll away as you demolish 31 different vehicles, ranging from ordinary cars and bikes to tanks, helicopters and even a flying saucer. Every wreck pays out cash that you reinvest so the next target breaks faster.

A timing mechanic stops it from being only clicking. Hold to charge, release inside the green zone and you land a 20-hit Super Smash, followed by a slow-motion collapse of the wreck. Three modes keep it fresh: Endless, a beat-the-clock mode and a Boss Rush of four heavyweights. It is a good stress-relief game and works well on touch screens.

The charge-and-release mechanic gives each smash a small skill element, and learning to release in the green zone every time is the difference between a good run and a great one. With 31 vehicles and three modes, there is variety to unlock, and the tactile feedback makes it a good stress reliever.

How to play Smash Yard

On desktop, click or hold a vehicle part to smash it, or press Space. Hold E and release in the green zone for a Super Smash, and press P or Esc to pause. On mobile, tap or hold the vehicle, and hold CHARGE SMASH, then release in the green zone.

Tips for Smash Yard

  • Spend early cash on upgrades that increase damage per hit.
  • Release the charge in the green zone every time; the Super Smash is the biggest damage dealer.
  • Use Boss Rush when you have unlocked several upgrades.
