Our take on Steel Directive: City Zero
Reviewed by the LetsPlayFree editors ·
Steel Directive: City Zero is a side-view action shooter spread over 20 missions. As an armored enforcer you retake a city from gangs and ever more dangerous robots, with big bosses along the way. Shooting is not the only task: you also rescue civilians, gather evidence, switch off security systems and reach the extraction point.
That variety is helped by a generous toolkit. You can use cover, switch weapons, throw grenades, raise a shield, dodge and kneel, and scan the area. The number of keys is large, but the on-screen layout on mobile makes it manageable. For players who like run-and-gun games with a tactical element, it offers more thinking than a straight shooter.
The mission variety is the highlight: rescuing civilians and disabling security systems break up the shooting. Using cover, kneeling and the shield makes combat tactical, and the 20 missions give the game real length.
